In this session, the 1st graders Personal Enrichment is Poetry.  We have been focusing on synonyms, adjectives, and rhyming.  Two poetry styles were introduced, (1) Choral and (2) Acrostic.

 

 

Jayden Green is a first grade student who learned how to do mental math in Mrs. Jones' 1st grade class during Session 4.  After several conversations with his teacher, Ms. Dale, Jayden taught the whole class how to do mental math. 

 

He gave the process just as he was given it in the after school program.   Ms. Dale stated that the students became so excited that it became a race among the students to see who could get the answer the fastest.
