Mrs. Morrissette's second graders are currently working on reading comprehension and fractions for the FCAT test. Congratulations to Jasmine Payne for being selected to participate in the "Make a Wish" compliments of Linking Arms.

 

Mrs. Morrissette selected several second grade students to participate in the field trip to Mobile, Alabama compliments of Mr. Dickerson on behalf of Linking Arms to visit the Gulf Coast Science Exploreum. The students had a chance to experience science using a hands on approach. The students were engaged throughout the entire field trip along with their teacher.
 

Mrs. Morrissette and the second grade students would like to tell everyone to enjoy their family and friends during this holiday season and Happy New Year to all.

 

 

 

 

The 2nd Grade Class is working on Character Development.  So, this session, all our assignments are geared towards helping our students grow to become better people. We are looking at everyday situations to see how we can incorporate these new lessons. Even getting on the school bus gives us an opportunity to improve our character.

 

As we follow the rules including facing front, buckling up, keeping our hands and feet to ourselves, and being kind to others while performing this task, we are becoming better people. We are also learning the meaning of respect and disrespect. Often we forget to abide by the rules.

 

We talk when the bus driver says be quiet or cut in line to get on the bus first. But these lessons in this session are helping us all to realize our mistakes, correct them, and ultimately develop the character we will need to become better people.
