Are
You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?
That’s our theme this session,
putting together the science observations with the
theory. We are completing reading and written
assignments in chemical and physical sciences this
session. Students have made silly putty while
learning about chemical reactions and crystals as
examples of physical reactions. Solvents were
‘caroled’ (see below) and tested with filter paper
Christmas bulbs. They will be making suspensions
(snow globes) for their kindergarten buddy readers.
To supplement the trip to the Nutcracker, they
learned that a nutcracker is a 2nd class
lever, a simple machine.
After the holidays students
will be learning physics as it applies to ice
skating. They will get an opportunity to test this
at a field trip to the ice skating rink in the
Pensacola Civic Center on January 21, 2010.
Come join us for Deliverable
Sat and take the Are You Smarter than a Fifth
Grader? Test designed by our students using a
circuit board they created. Answers will light up!
